At Advanced Restoration, we like to think of ourselves as an environmentally friendly company.  Especially when we are talking about our local Long Island environment. That is why we started a division of our company that specializes in the deconstruction and disassembly of residential and small commercial buildings throughout Long Island.  

We are at the forefront of awareness and application of building deconstruction principles as they apply to promoting the reuse and recycling of building materials as a competitive tool against the standard demolition and landfill waste disposal that is prevalent choice of today.

Advanced Restoration has the ability to deconstruct as much  or as little of the structure as required by our clients.  Almost 80% of the building materials can be salvaged for reuse or recycling.  This includes but not limited to interior finishes, structural framing members, flooring and roofing materials, windows and doors, landscaping elements and foundation materials. This type of deconstruction almost always requires a longer time period than standard demolition as it is more labor intensive than a standard demolition.

Long Island Homes or Buildings exhibiting one or more of the following characteristics are likely to be good deconstruction candidates:

• Wood-framed with heavy timbers and beams, or with unique woods such as douglas fir, American chestnut, and old growth southern yellow pine

• Constructed with specialty building materials such as hardwood flooring, multi-paned windows, architectural mouldings, and unique windows, doors, plumbing, and/or electrical fixtures

• Older structures constructed with high-quality brick laid with low-quality mortar (to allow relatively easy break-up and cleaning)

• Structurally sound, generally weather-tight to minimize rotted and decayed building materials
