Water Damage and Drying Wood Floors. They Can Be Saved.

In our opinion, the best way to dry wet wood floors back to their "pre-loss condition" is with the use of our Injectidry units.  They act as giant suction cups attached to the floor that slowly pull the moisture through the wood and the creases between the slats of wood.  Combined with the use of a Phoenix D385 Desiccant Dehumidifier, there is no faster better way to dry water damaged wood floors, especially in the humid Long Island and New York City environments.

It is our belief that Conventional Refrigerant Dehumidifiers cannot bring the Grains Per Pound (GPP) or Specific Humidity in the ambient air low enough to dry wood floors in the proper amount of time.  Our Injectidry units are always installed with a desiccant dehumidifiers to decrease drying time.

Water Damage and Laminate Flooring: They Don't Play Well Together

Unfortunately, water and laminate flooring does not mix well together.  Because of the construction of the flooring system, when laminate floors get wet they have to be removed.

Laminate floors are usually built with a vapor underneath them to protect the laminate material.  When water gets underneath any vapor barrier, it becomes difficult to remove water using our extraction and dehumidification equipment.  The vapor barrier has to be removed to prevent long term water damage and mold from growing and subsequently becoming an issue.

Our use of the Injectidry Wall Drying System allowed us to pump hot dry air into the wall cavity to assist in the drying of the sheetrock behind the wainscot.  We did not have to detach the wainscot in order to dry the structure behind it.  Within three days the Moisture Content in the building materials was reduced to their acceptable dry standards.

Using the Injectidry System to Save the Vinyl Wallpaper

By removing the base trim on this wall and exposing the wall under the trim line, we were able to install the Injectidry Wall Drying Unit in the wall cavities.  As a result, we did not have to remove the vinyl wallpaper and were able to dry all the building materials with minimal disturbance to the finish building materials, which ultimatley minimized the building repairs and disruption to the homeowners.
